Mist Survival

Mist Survival is a new up and coming survival/ horror game set in a post apocalyptic world. It bases its game-play on the player’s ability to sneak and scavenge goods for survival. Even though there hasn’t been an official time stamp placed on the game’s story line, it appears to take place around the mark of 2000, to 2010.

Beware the mist

Mist Survival on Steam

Mist Survival is available via Steam as an early access release, and is updated regularly by Capt Lord Rati and their team on steam. They do appear to have a decent update schedule, it can be sporadic at times, however they have an update planned in august that adds in new character game models, and even a look at the “mysterious creature” that the game itself refers to as the survival madness begins.

Still doesn’t feel like home

How Is the Game-play of Mist Survival?

As with most scavenge/horror based survival games, Mist Survival has multiple enemies that can be a real problem for the player if they proceed too recklessly. As well as the infected threat that applies whenever clearing a house, the threat continues as bandits are stationed around the map at various locations. All of which are armed, and have a selection of different weapons at their disposal.

While dealing with bandits the player cannot forget about the infected threat that doesn’t appear to be, but is always a problem for the player. The infected cannot come out during daylight. Rather they take cover in houses and buildings during the daytime, making scavenging that much more dangerous. However, Mist events can happen in what appears to be random intervals throughout the daylight cycle, which draws out the vicious infected during the day.

As well as weapon based and hand to hand based combat. Mist Survival also includes what could be considered the beginnings to a dynamic injury system. As the player is injured, depending on where they are injured on the body, will effect the time it takes to heal. If the injury is on a part of the body that is used and causes bleeding, the injury may partially heal, and then “break open” causing the player to continue bleeding and the player could potentially bleed out.

In Summary…

This article was never written to be a review of the game itself, but more of an informative article. Although, this is currently one of the best early access, non-server based survival games that I have played to date, and has excellent potential to be something beautiful in the future. I would highly recommend everyone to check it out.

Subnautica

Set out on a mission for colonization, a peaceful trip turned sour as an unknown entity forces a quick end to the journey. The player is a passenger upon the colonization ship designate “Aurora”. While in transit to a planet for colonization, something goes wrong as the ship takes sudden damage and is forced into a collision course with an unknown planet.

After learning of the emergency situation, The player gets into a life pod via cut-scene and launches away from the ship.

Upon the player taking control, the objectives are clear. While being temporarily stranded on an unknown “alien” planet, the player must find resources as well as nutrients amongst the alien planet to survive until rescue comes. Upon starting out, the player has access to a heavily damaged life-pod and a small level of nutrient packed survival food, and water stored within the pod until the player learns how to gain food on their own.

Subnautica, even though it is a game based on survival on an “alien” ocean-based planet, it does have extremely thick plot and heavily detailed storyline. Unlike any story driven game, Subnautica allows for a complete free-roam capability while not increasing difficulty in any way. The player progresses the story at their own pace, players can either use this to their own benefit, or fall victim to the planet, depending on skill and desire for temporary luxury.

Game-play features a nice blend between repairing and re-utilizing man made technology, increasing the knowledge, luxury, and overall capabilities of the player, while surviving and utilizing all the resources the planet has to offer. Meanwhile causing extreme distress of players not fully knowing for sure what went bump in the night, or in this case, a heavy roar in the distance.

A new series will be started on Youtube soon, please stay tuned to see all the great and grave experiences with me, Twisted Trisler, throughout the game-play of Subnautica.

Director Ruben Fleischer and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were all put on the map following the success, with Fleischer helming the most recent entry into Sony’s first Spider-Man spinoff Venom, and Rheese and Wernick going on to help bring the Deadpool franchise to life for Fox, and all of them will be returning to the director’s and writers’ chairs for the sequel.

The film will also feature the return of stars Woody Harrelson (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me), Emma Stone (La La Land) and Abigail Breslin (Scream Queens), which may raise the budget to above $24 million this time, especially given Stone’s Oscar win La La Land, Harrelson’s nomination for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Eisenberg’s nomination for The Social Network. Dawson will also be joining franchise newcomers Zoey Deutch (Set it Up) and Avan Jogia (Victorious).

The original followed four strangers who meet on the road in the middle of the zombie apocalypse and, while initially at each other’s throats, they soon come to bond with each other and form a close-bonded group. Harrelson played the violent cowboy Tallahassee, Eisenberg played geeky Columbus, with Stone and Breslin playing crafty sisters Wichita and Little Rock, all characters named after the locations they are heading to.

Zombieland came out in 2009 and quickly became one of the most talked-about and acclaimed hits for the zombie genre, with critics and audiences praising it for its intelligent humor, gleeful gore, self-aware nature and the minor ensemble’s fantastic chemistry. The film was also a commercial hit, grossing over $100 million globally off of a $24 million budget, as well as earning over $55 million on home media as of 2015.

The sequel is expected to be released next year on October 2019, just in time for the 10th anniversary of the original film.

Sony sets Morbius and Ghostbusters 3 release dates

Deadline is reporting that Sony Pictures has announced both Morbius and Ghostbusters 3 release dates during prime season of summer 2020. The currently untitled Ghostbusters film (which will ignore the 2016 reboot and directly follow Ghostbusters 1 & 2) will drop on July 10, 2020, while the Spider-Man spinoff Morbius (following in the footsteps of Venom) bows just three weeks later on July 31, 2020.

Both summer dates are currently without direct competition, although the month will also see Minions 2, an untitled Christopher Nolan film and Disney’s Jungle Cruise in play. Venom 2 is now the unofficial most likely contender for Sony’s other slot for a Marvel film in development, which is October 2, 2020.

Oscar winner Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Dallas Buyers Club) will topline Morbius as the living vampire of the title, with Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising, Good Omens) and Matt Smith (The Crown,Doctor Who) co-starring.

Morbius is Sony’s adaptation of the Marvel anti-hero Morbius the Living Vampire. The film will be directed by Daniel Espinosa (LifeSafe House) from a script by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (Netflix’s Lost in Space), based on the Marvel Comics character created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane who first appeared in 1971’s “Amazing Spider-Man” #101.

Originally Dr. Michael Morbius, the scientist character tried to cure his rare blood disease only to become afflicted with a form of vampirism that gave him superior strength, fangs and a taste for the red stuff. The character fought Spider-Man several times, though eventually earned several of his own books where he had a more heroic arc. He has an ongoing feud with the character Blade the Vampire Hunter in the comics. Morbius previously appeared on TV in Spider-Man: The Animated Series and Ultimate Spider-Man Vs The Sinister Six, and was originally earmarked to make his film debut in Blade until his cameo was deleted and plans to make him the villain in Blade II scrapped.

Arad and Tolmach will produce the Morbius movie with Lucas Foster, with Sony executive Palak Patel overseeing for the studio. This is one of several Spider-Man spin-off projects in development at Sony, including the recently announced Silk movie, as well as Nightwatch, Black Cat, and Silver Sable.

RELATED: 30 Teen Actors That Could Be the Next Ghostbusters

Academy Award nominee Jason Reitman (Up in the Air, Juno) will be directing and co-writing the new Ghostbusters movie, taking up the mantle from his father Ivan Reitman who directed the original Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters 2 (1989). The younger Reitman also had a memorable cameo in the second film.

The screenplay will be co-written by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan (Monster House, Poltergeist), with an aim to begin production later this year. While it is currently unknown who of the surviving core Ghostbusters cast (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, Rick Moranis) will return, it has been reported that Reitman is looking to cast four teen actors (two boys and two girls) in lead roles to tackle supernatural baddies.

In addition to the new sequel, an animated Ghostbusters movie remains in development.

The Prodigy clip: Miles has a warning…he’s here

In the latest clip from Orion Pictures’ creepy kid horror movie The Prodigy, Miles (the creepy kid) is in a deep sleep, before he’s abruptly woken up in a panic, repeatedly insisting “he’s here!” We don’t know who the “he” is yet, but you can check out the clip in the player below!

The film follows Sarah , a mother whose young son Miles’ disturbing behavior signals that an evil, possibly supernatural force has overtaken him. She is forced to look for answers in the past, taking the audience on a wild ride; one where the line between perception and reality remains blurry.

Edgar Wright's New Movie is a Psychological Thriller, Filming Begins this Summer

Edgar Wright’s new movie is a psychological thriller, filming begins this summer

Empire brings word that filmmaker Edgar Wright, while still working on his documentary for the pop-rock band Sparks, is gearing up for his next feature film. Though he hasn’t revealed the title, Wright calls it psychological horror-thriller in the vein of Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion. The director further revealed the film will take place in London and have a female lead.

“I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years,” Wright said. “With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”

Empire confirms that production will begin on the movie this summer with Wright behind the camera. The script was co-written by Wright and Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful). No word on casting for the film as of yet.

Wright also confirmed to the outlet that development continues on a Baby Driver sequel and that a first draft of the sequel’s script “exists.” He elaborated saying that it “takes the story further” with all-new characters and a body-count to match the first toe-tapping film. Baby Driver arrived in theaters in 2017, bringing in $226.9 million at the worldwide box office, prompting sequel talks from distributor Sony.

The Whisperers: Behind-the-scenes of The Walking Dead season 9

AMC has released a behind-the-scenes look at The Walking Dead Season 9’s second half and the terrifying new villains, The Whisperers. Watch the cast and creators give an exclusive preview in the video below!

The second half of The Walking Dead Season 9 finds our groups of survivors, both old and new, continuing to deal with the impact of events that took place during the six years that have passed. Since the disappearance of Rick, many of these characters have become strangers to each other, and in some ways, strangers to themselves. What they do know is that they are in undeniable danger. They will soon realize the world just beyond does not operate as they thought.

The group’s rules and ways of survival no longer guarantee their safety. A whole new threat has crossed their paths, and they soon discover it’s unlike any threat they have encountered or endured before. The group will start to question what they think they see. What may appear to be normal in this post-apocalyptic world could actually be more disturbing and terrifying than when the apocalypse first broke out. All that is certain is the stakes are high and numerous.
