Adding Audio to Your Level
We have released part one of our new tutorial series showing you how to add audio to your CRYENGINE level.
In our new tutorial video series, Learning Manager Brian Dilg covers how to set up audio in CRYENGINE. In part one of this tutorial series, you’ll learn how to setup FMOD in CRYENGINE and add ambient sounds, add audio triggers, then setup an Audio Trigger Spot to play an ambient sound. The video takes you step-by-step through the process in under twenty minutes.
The video can be used in conjunction with the updated audio documentation which you can find here. To follow the course, please download the Audio Showcase Level from the CRYENGINE Marketplace which includes all of the assets you require. By downloading the level, you can also investigate the completed tutorial project at your leisure. The video uses FMOD middleware, which you can download from their website. However, in the associated documentation, you will find instructions on how to use Wwise and SDL Mixer, our other supported audio middleware.
This course is aimed at users who are already comfortable with using the sandbox. It is based on CRYENGINE 5.5.2, but you can also use a later version of CRYENGINE. If you are completely new to CRYENGINE, we recommend you download our beginner’s course or watch the tutorial on our YouTube channel.
